One meaning of "Ascension"

The link following these few paragraphs provides one 'metaphysical' description of 'Ascension' as it relates to 2012 and specifically to Dec 21, 2012...

We do not really know what will happen in the future Nows unless we have received a premonition... and even for those of us who have received premonitions about something to come that have proven to be true, we do not 'know' until it actually occurs with some specificity that mirrors the premonition...

There are plenty of theories and ideas floating around about what will happen on Dec. 21, 2012. They range from an actual physical transformation much like that suggested by the idea of 'rapture' from some religious circles... to a spiritual shift in consciousness that will impact the entire global mass and individual consciousness. The traditional Christian meaning of "Ascension" related to Jesus of Nazareth's ascension to heaven after his resurrection, as the story goes...

For those who have experienced an expansion of consciousness or have experienced what might be called 'psychic' or 'paranormal' phenomena, there is an understanding of the multi-dimensional aspects of who we are... sometimes defined as different numbered dimensions... For example, our present physical everyday realm is referred to as the 3rd dimension or 3D...

We do not know what will happen or if anything at all will happen on 12-21-12. And yet in some ways, there is always, in every 'Now,' the opportunity to walk into the present moment and be an emissary for love and kindness. Why wait until Dec. 21, 2012... Whatever happens in that particular 'now' is already here in this 'now'... Be the love you want....Be the kindness you wish to receive... Open to this Now... even Now... No need to wait for something to save us or change us from somewhere else... the depth and breadth of love exists now with our very consciousness and indeed in all of life... at least that is my take on it from my life's experience...
