Dream Example: "Splendor in the Grass"

Dreamtime: “Splendor in the Grass”

Intro:
Here is an example of a dream and some reflections to it. It is one way to protect onto the dream from our waking consciousness. One assumption I now have is that an aspect of our unconscious mind… our Higher Self… is trying its best to communicate something we are not seeing or of which we are not aware. Often as we experience fear in a dream, it can be a signal that the ego is trying to protect its domain and does not want the energy or awareness to enter consciousness. The extreme of this can be experienced as what we call a “nightmare.”

The  Dream:

I’m driving a large vehicle that is some type of mower and I am doing my best to mow down some tall grass and weeds around several big mature trees with huge trunks. I am having some difficulty maneuvering around the trunks and roots that are sticking out of the ground. Then finally the ‘mower’ gets stuck. I am off of the mower now and I notice that the wheels are still going around but the mower is not moving and is off the ground probably due to being lodged up on the protruding roots. Now I notice a long cord that is moving through the grass looking for a place to plug in as if it is powering the mowers. As I look at the plug end, it appears more like a snake’s head with its tongue going in and out like snakes do… and I am afraid it will bite me so I back out of the way.

Reflections:
In these days of retreat and reflection, I am trying to get eliminate and trim some unnecessary and unwanted extras… like weight, and habits that do not serve my overall wellness. There are some deeply rooted and longstanding patterns that these issues have grown up around. They could represent ingrained parental complexes in the psyche… they may represent a lot of growth in various areas in this life. Yet there is an issue with the roots or foundation and grounding of these areas tends to stick out and slow my intended task. The cord-snake to me represents kundalini or life energy that is trying to get plugged back in and yet a part of me back away and there is some fear. If I assume my higher Self and/or guides are trying to tell me something that I do not know in my conscious mind it seems to be:

“While you are doing your best to trim a few things, let go of the ego’s fear of the powerful life force and energy that is trying to plug in… allow the energy to rise from the ground through every energy center to cleanse, heal, and radiate each cell of the body, mind, emotions, sensations, and your total being. Open to the energy of Source from everywhere and let it fill each area and energy center from crown to ground… enlivening the roots and all that is in your being and body…. Every organ, synapse, cell, and fluid… Open to the kundalini spirit of life in all its aspects… welcome the cord-snake of spirit… here in this moment…”
Of course there are other projections we can share about this particular dream. If it were your dream, what might it mean to you? If you wish to share, you may do so by writing to John@sunhutch.com ... Here to you and to our dreamtime guides....

Levels of Dreams

Different 'Levels' of Dreams
Life and consciousness can be seen as pure energy that is perceived or sensed in various frequencies and densities...
Therefore, as we approach dreams, the wise unconscious mind or our Higher Self provides a picture of dynamic frequencies in dream symbols and images that are common to our stories or experience... and the stories we have absorbed through others.
Dream dynamics often will refer to the ego structure and our personal experiences in daily life... Often the feeling of fear in a dream is because something may be trying to come to consciousness that the ego does not like or want... the ego's job has been a survival dynamic from day one to help us cope in the world and in the scenes we were brought into... The ego does a good job of strengthening itself over the years to help us cope and find survival modes in life. As we move toward expanding consciousness beyond the stories and domestication we lived through, the ego is still doing its job of protecting its boundaries... It is quite conservative in the sense that the first response is to not want change or disruption of the known structures... and so, as in life, it may use fear to stop our movement to pure awareness...
I always look at dreams from several perspectives...
  1. Personal Dimension: The dream is a reflection of what's happening at a personality level... each part is a part of my personal psyche... Look to see where the feelings in the dream may mirror some feeling you are having at the same time in your daily life.
  2. Spiritual Dimension: The dream may be a message from our Higher Self and is asking us to move toward expanded consciousness or providing insight or guidance;
  3. Prophetic Dimension: It's a message about others or something going on in the collective consciousness of the globe or some Earth changes...
And there are more, but this will suffice for now...
Dreams may apply both to the personal and spiritual dimensions since they are one and there are no boundaries... By approaching and understanding our dreams from various perspectives or 'levels' we can become our own best guide and counselor.
If you have a dream on which you would like some feedback, send it to john@sunhutch.com and I will comment on it.

Nature and Purpose of Dreams

from David Wilcock... "A Scientific Blueprint for Ascension"

"The nature and purpose of dreams...

Dreams are a very high level, distilled message from the Higher Self that comes through to the individual in the language of metaphor. It doesn’t matter whether you understand your dreams with your conscious mind or not. It doesn’t matter whether you remember them or not. Your dreams communicate with your fourth-dimensional or fourth-density astral self, which I believe is the same self that Edgar Cayce was using to do his medical readings.

It’s your astral self that goes through the dream experience. So it’s as if you have multiple levels of your being that are doing different things, things that you’re not aware of. They’re doing all sorts of work, and they’re buzzing around — and yet it’s all part of you, at the same time.

And this is a very mind-expanding concept because you realize how much more you are than your physical body. You realize how much more you’re loved and how much more of yourself there is."

Some Assumptions about Dreams – Part I

The following are some assumptions I have about dreams and the dream process… I don’t know if they are true or not… but they seem to fit my experience:

1.    Dreams are meaningful
The meaning may not always be clear at first and depending on the type of dream, clarity may come later… the main working belief here is that there is purpose in life and a process of unfolding awareness… a synthesis toward wholeness…

2.    Dreams can teach us something new
The wisdom of the “unconscious mind” provides clues to help us open and grow… The dreamscape is trying to teach us something new… perhaps some hidden ego dynamics… or new abilities… or expanding awareness to multi-dimensions…

3.    The dreamer is the final authority of his or her dream meaning
In groups, people share the meaning as if it were their own dream… These are always projections and the dreamer must decide if other people’s projections seem to fit ... if there is an “ah-ha” moment, then there is probably a match… I always try to say or write: “If it were my dream”… before I comment to remind myself and others that what I say or write are mere projections… I am not the authority regarding your dreams…YOU ARE!

4.    Everyone dreams and may or may not remember their dreams
Sleep and dream research have shown that we have certain dream-states that occur within our sleep cycles… If you do not remember your dreams it is most likely that you have no way to work with the dreamscapes… One thing you can do is to ask your unconscious to give you a dream that you will remember… Place a notebook by your bed and write anything down that you recall, even if it is a brief fragment…

5.    Nightmares can be helpful
Some of my most fearful dreams produced some incredible lessons… Our egoic structure or personal ego is well established and will do what it can to protect its domain… it was constructed in the process of surviving as best it could… Fear in a nightmare can mean that the ego is trying to fight against some important information from coming through to consciousness. I always try my best to stay with a fearful situation in a dream to see what might be transformed… sometimes it works, sometimes I wake to escape the dream situation…

6.    Consciousness is continuous and interconnected
This simply means Life is One… and our dreams occur at various levels… Sometimes they are showing us very personal dynamics we may be repressing for daily life… at other times they may be connecting to transpersonal or spiritual dimensions beyond individual ego boundaries… perhaps in a mass collective consciousness… perhaps at the level of archetypal of universal patterns… perhaps in astral projections where our ethereal or spirit body moves to other locations or planes… The larger “Mind” that includes ‘All’ is really the stuff of Divine Love… and includes all information that ever was or will be…

7.    Time is an illusion
Dreams, like intuition can provide specific information that will come to pass in a day or a month… these are premonitions of the NOW that has not yet entered our conscious experience… This concept is hard for the logical mind to understand since it is based more on time and linear thinking… this is not to say that time does not exist, but rather there is much more and less to ‘time’ than meets our everyday ‘eye’….

8.    Dreams are selective
By this I mean, our larger unconscious mind present what we need or are ready for at the time… and the more we are conversant with this Higher Self part of our unconscious, the more we are able to work in cooperation with our deeper purpose and mission, often seeding dreams for answers, directions, astral travel, etc.

…And there is always more to come… and we are all-ways more than we think we are!
