Change is happening... [dream included]

Change happens.... and even at times when we know it is coming, the shift creates feelings of disorientation. We are reminded that, even as a new job has a bit of a learning curb, so life presents new circumstances which also are accompanied by the necessity to learn and shift accordingly.

Recently, I had a dream in which we were practicing soccer, or "football" as it is called in some parts of the globe. There was a difference. Instead of a regular soccer ball, the ball was shaped liked half a football with a flat side, like a rocket nose-cone. Each time it was kicked, it simply tumbled sporadically. It was obvious that it would take a bit of time to adjust to the new-fangled ball. Life had changed. We didn't ask for a new way to play soccer, but were presented with the new ball nonetheless.

We live in a time where Life is changing, again. Some of us have ideas about what the change is about, some do not. In some cases we see change as necessary and welcomed. Yet as it is happening, we find our skills and normal way of going about the "game" a bit challenging.

We really do not know for sure what is happening. Options are to let fear overtake us and remain somewhat paralyzed or reactive. Or we can deny change is happening. Or we can accept that sometimes change is happening and the transition brings some amount of chaos and confusion. Being on the transition bridge can be disorienting. The old "ball" has been replaced by something we are not quite used to. Perhaps a fog covers the bridge so, while we know we are in transition and left the familiar entrance to the bridge, the fog clouds any view of the new beginning.

I'm sure there are many options... perhaps an infinite number. I personally have had the experience that it is best to continue to respond to life as if it will be OK and that when we need to know, we will be guided appropriately. Life is much bigger than our viewpoint and beliefs... The infinite Source is Life and we really are mere co-creators. May our energy remain based in Love rather than fear.

"Game-Changer" [Dream]

Dream:

I am on the golf course and trying to play golf... but the ball is not a ball but rather a kind of muddy like substance. I hit it but, as you might expect, it just comes apart. I try to put it back together, and hit it again, only to see it come apart again.

Now I notice that the pieces are moving a bit like small weasels or worms... parts are alive... I feel frustrated and then decide I can no longer play golf under these circumstances.

Comment:

The main feeling was one of frustration; which I have sensed the past few days.

As I sat quietly with the dream, I realized that the ball was not a solid object, but rather living pieces... alive with a life of their own. It dawned on me that the game was changing and I needed to let go of my old ways of seeing life and playing the "game." The "game" was changing or has changed and I was still holding on to an old view of what the "game" was about.

Life is no longer a simple cause and effect set of dynamics. The object was no longer a solid definable chunk, but rather a rather muddied substance that was full of life. No matter how hard I tried to make it into an object ...a hard golf ball... it remained a dynamic mix of living matter...

As much as we pay lip service to letting go of the old so the new can come forth, there is nothing like a frustrating 'golf game dream' to bring home the truth of reality! I have had a form of this frustrating golf dream for years and now it seems perhaps my wiser unconscious has finally gotten through to me... we'll see if the golf dream is gone... and if it returns, it seems the message will be clearer... and a reminder to return to the reality of what is going on... letting go again of what "I think" the game is about. Tend to the living substance of Life,  not the outdated ideas of the past. Today is a brand new day.
