Rune # 15 - "Wise One"
[Fusion13 Runes Series]

When the "Wise One" rune appears in a reading, it indicates that a person who you trust brings wisdom and advice to the situation. She or he may already be in your life as a mentor and ally. This rune may also suggest you are meant to connect with the Wise One aspect of your psyche within and to develop and strengthen this inner connection.

At times, when trying to decide about something, I will confide in a trusted friend. I may be thinking of the situation one way and my friend will flip my perspective a bit so I have something else to consider that is quite different or even opposite of my perspective.

When hearing advice or suggestions from others, we must remember that we are the person responsible for making a decision. Always consider how the advice of others fits within our your own heart. Does it feel right for you?

There are ways to access the "Wise One" within. Begin by believing that such a "Wise One" exists and is available to you. You may wish to pose a question to your "greater unconscious mind" during a time of meditaton and simply wait for an answer to pop in without spending the mental energy of thinking about it.

You can also use imagery such as the following:

Relax your body and mind;
Imagine taking a journey to the top of a mountain where your wise person lives;
Once at the top of the mountain, just allow a figure to come to you without any preconceived ideas about what she or he might look like;
Accept whatever the image presents without censoring it;
Welcome your inner "wise one" with a greeting, then ask your question and hear what your wiseman or wise woman has to say;
You may continue the dialogue as long as seems appropriate;
When you sense it is concluding, give thanks, say your goodbyes, and complete the journey by traveling back down the mountain to where you are now...

I have used this successfully on many occasions. It is a form form of channeling our own innner guidance.

The "Wise One" may be another human being who shows up or to whom you make contact; and it may be your own inner wise guide. Remember the process of connecting with our own inner wise energy may take some developing and strenthening. What ever happens is fine!
