The Mountain comes for a visit…

One of the Fusion13 Runes is “Mountain” [#32]. A mountain has different meanings for different people and the meaning may change from one time to another. In an F13 rune reading, the meaning can depend on the nature of the inquiry and also the surrounding runes when using the ‘Circle of Life’ layout.

Mountain may represent a seemingly huge obstacle to overcome, or some major challenge you are going through. We can forget that we have the resources, both seen and unseen, to deal with any obstacle. And a bit of faith and trust in the Source of Life can help to move the mountain as if it were a small mound. It can be that we focus on the obstacle or challenge and make it even larger than it really is. It is best if we do not fight the mountain which often gives it more strength. Be careful not to make “mountains out of molehills.”

Mountain can also represent a place that rises above the everyday experiences of our lives. From the mountain top we can see more clearly. We can see the bigger picture. Traveling to the mountain top in imagery can help us to expand our consciousness to a higher place. Try it if you wish. Find a comfortable place to relax. Take some deep breaths and exhale slowly. Then when you are ready, see yourself moving toward the top on a mountain of your choice. Notice what kind of a day it is and the details of the journey.

Once you reach the mountaintop, notice what you see and how you feel. You may even meet a wise person who lives there. It may be an old wise man or woman or both. If someone has come to visit, engage in conversation and you can ask them anything you wish. Let them answer and make a note of what they say. You can always think about it later. This can represent a deep and wise part of your own consciousness and may even be conveying a special message from your higher Self, your guardians, and/or the Source of Love and Life.

To help integrate the experience, you may let the sun shine down upon you and any guests that have visited you there on the mountain top. The sun, with its fire and light has often been an integrative energy and symbol of wholeness and Source of Love which provides life giving radiance to all.

You may also have a physical location in the mountains that provides a sanctuary to renew your strength and recharge your Life energy. By all means consider being guided to a special secluded space to which you can retreat.

Again the ‘Mountain’ [#32] rune will have its message for you and you will be the one to decide what it means in your life and at this time.

Do you know someone who feels like family to you?

The "Kindred Spirits" rune refers to others who may share the same goals, values, concerns, and energy. "Kindred Spirits" may be any combination of friends and/or relatives with which you sense a kindred spirit.... They are your spiritual family. You may know them for 25 minutes or 25 years and you intuitively sense a familiar connection.

Of course,  the meaning that "Kindred Spirits" specifically brings to the meaning of a rune reading will depend upon the nature of the inquiry, the surrounding runes, and the topic rune which defines the main focus of all other runes.

Who would you consider your "kindred spirits"?? They may be people who are present in your life now. They may show up tomorrow; And they may be in the past. For instance, I had a terrific friend named Gary during our time in college who was a kindred spirit. He passed from this world around the age of 30-something. There are times when I have a dialogue with Gary's memory when I am contemplating a decision. Not surprising, I can imagine exactly what he would say if were standing in front of me now.

A word about family members. For many people, it appears that they are nothing like any other family members. And that is just the way it is. These people may have needed this difference in their life in order to move on and follow his or her own path. For these folks, while they may be friendly with family members, would never consider them as kindred spirits. And then there are others who do maintain a kindred spirit connection with their relatives.

Fear [Fusion13 Rune Series]

When the "fear" rune (#62)* appears, the energies of fear, anxiety, doubt, or panic are probably influencing the situation that is the focus of your reading and inquiry.

Fears come from a variety of sources: fantasies, thoughts, past experiences, and from others around us. Fear often seems quite dark and foreboding in its energy... and for good reason. We are best served if we acknowledge that fear is present and then continue on the path of our heart's direction. There is a big difference between the survival instinct of fear which automatically may arise if a car is coming toward you. In the case of fear as an instinct, we know to try to get out of the way of an oncoming car.

Fear that is self generated is usually a thought that enters our consciousness and we remain focused on it, which of course causes it to grow until we might even become paralyzed by it. This form of fear is more of an illusion that tends to stifle life energy and channel it in unproductive and unsatisfying ways which may lead to avoidance and resistant behaviors. When we remain in the present moment and rid our egoic mind of fear, we do discover that the psychological forms of fear are not real right 'Now.' Even those who have been hurt or abused in the past in certain circumstances can allow their past experiences to inflict a paralyzing stoppage of movement and connection in their lives. The lessons from the past can provide good information to produce an intuitive caution without become a debilitating fear.

Fear is a natural part of our survival mechanism that can be taken over by our egoic mind to avoid change and growth as well. Fear may enter since we can project and fantasize an infinite number of possibilities about what we do not know. The future 'nows' are usually uncertain and unknown. We know that our bodies will stop breathing some  future 'now' and this can create a fear of living if we have not fully accepted this fact. Whether or not we have experienced an expanding of consciousness that transcends the materiality of our earthly existence, we do need to at least accept the inevitable as a part of the Life cycle. I read that Woody Allen once said this about death: "I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens." And of course the reality is present in our knowing as well as our fantasizing about how it might occur. Both can produce the effect of creating an exaggerated caution about living our life more fully.

Courage does not mean we have overcome the dynamics of fear; courage is action based in love that moves us forward in the presence of fear's illusions.

Again, if the "fear" rune (62) shows up in your reading, be aware of where and when fear is present, and choose to move forward according to the rhythm of Love's dynamic and ever-present power in your life.

This has been a look at fear from a mental perspective by design. If we choose to look at our fear that seems to be somewhat debilitating in the moment, it may be useful to talk with someone experienced in dealing with fears and phobias. Someone who is able to help you shift from a fear state to a state of being more neutrally present and even into a state of loving-kindness toward oneself.

 Techniques such as the 'Magical Inner Theater' and 'Time-Line Therapy' can be quite beneficial in dealing with fear of varying degrees. 'Cognitive Therapy' can also provide ways to change one's self talk to more positive inner dialogues.

Some spiritual teachers have suggested that most or all of our actions are motivated either by love or fear. This makes a lot of sense to me, although it is often not that easy for us to simply switch from fear to love. Having a coach or guide can be a positive catalyst to learning these skills so we can more fully live now, in the present moment. We are always more than we thought we were.

F13-9 Medicine Walk Reading for Fusion13 Adventure

F13-9 Medicine Walk Rune Reading - March 4, 2012

The Inquiry: Relevant Information on the Fusion13 Adventure and any advice for direction...

The Circle Layout is like a clock face with the 13th thematic rune placed in center [same as the F13 cluster pattern I was shown. The 13^th rune is placed in the center and indicates the theme or focus for the reading. It might be beneficial to read #13 rune position first since it is the focalizing theme of the reading:

1. #70 Corn-Plenty: There is an abundance of resources for the F13 Adventure...we have all the resource available to us to go forward... the resource may be physical as in assets or spiritual or both... this also impacts the runes around or the whole reading. [see 2, 10, 11,12,]
   
   
2. #5 Father Sky: relates to the energy of 'air and talks about vastness, expansion, and freedom... it gives us the abilities to rise above any issue that may show itself... there are also the principles of protection [10, 12], nurturance[see 10], and energy.
   
   
3. #68 Grassland: refers to Earth Energy and is beneficial, protective, and nurturing [see 2, 6,10,12]... it indicates there is  a stable base from which to proceed... it also indicates, as we know already, that some things are not out in the open and remain unknown...
   
   
4. #22 Prayer: The answers and guidance will come as a result of prayer... so, in terms of things to do, we can make prayer for guidance a daily endeavor. I usually do some kind of prayer at least as I lay down for dreamtime..."with prayer, all things are possible."
   
   
5. #20 Man: This represents an adult male or the development of a mature attitude. So far there are 2 adult male in the group and I suspect this has more to do with everyone involved come to this with a mature attitude. If the 'man' refers to me, I will certainly do my best to suggest what is good for all according to the best guidance we receive. We are all focalizers, and I, John, am the facilitator of the initial Fusion13 cluster... and we are all equal...
   
   
6. #66 Community: It takes a virtual village and that is exactly the concept being received... it also means a support network or type of group which provides assistance to one another in resolving the issues or goals that arise... this can refer to a physical community of people living near one another, but in our case it seems to refer to the virtual community and also the inclusive community of unseen guides, guardians, helpers, etc. [see 2,10,12,13]
   
   
7. #71 Medicine Wheel represents the Circle of Life... We are moving into a new phase or cycle...Change is happening... it is inevitable and within the normal flow of things. Harmony is maintained as long as we do not let fear thwart us from moving forward and as we are willing to go through the necessary changes... The medicine wheel and the Fusion13 circle cluster look quite similar.
   
   
8. #32 Mountain: can have several meaning depending on the runes that surround it... In this case, it is surrounded by positive runes and refers to faith as being able to move mountains... It can also mean seclusion, meditation, prayer, and alone time is needed as the path to receive the next step... This is another thing we all can do...
   
   
9. #56 Chickee or Home: this can indicate a place of security, safety, and sanctuary where we can meditate, relax, and from where we can share our insights and support... and it indicates a place of familiarity where we can feel "right at home." Hopefully you find the comfort of the Fusion13 Group a safe place and you will feel right at home...
   
   
10. #54 Wild Cat - is representative of our unseen protectors.... The wild cat protect itself, its territory, and it family members often without ever being seen...This refers to our unseen allies, guides, and guardians it seems... [see 2.6.9,10,11,12,13]
    
    
11. #63 Years/Longtime - this modifies surrounding runs, so in this case both 10 and 12 refer to protection. This indicates we are being protected in our adventure for a very long time... many years... on and on...
    
    
12. #49 Blanket - literally means we are covered or protected... there is and will be security, comfort, and protection... for a long time [11] ..."things are covered."
    
    
13. #38 Ancestors is the theme of the entire reading...
    [Dream/Pop Message: Before beginning this reading I received a message from a 'pop' while relaxing before dreamtime... In the scene, I am in a building and see a circular hole in the floor... as I look down and in I notice water and also some structural elements of a very old building.... As I am looking, a voice tells me that "she died of cancer" and I was also then told "she loves you"... my sense is that it was a past life connection and may be related to soul connections we are making again... in any event, there is communication and a message from the depths  once again... including a messenger. Some of you have already indicated some 'pops' or 'sparks' of prior connections... while I did not get any direct pops about this, some muscle testing seems to confirm that at least some of us have been connected in the 'past'.] ...

The Ancestor rune indicates guidance and answers from the past from those who came before us... information may come from our actual past history ... or since time is a bit of an illusion,, it can also refer to those in other dimensions out of time as we know it... So, we proceed with much knowledge available through the "ancestoral energy reservoir"...

Brief Origin and information about the Medicine Walk Rune process:

The runes were developed in place of the actual Medicine Walk in nature as the lands were taken away from the Native Americans by the European settlers. I received my Seminole Medicine Walk Runes set from Sam Thomas [Caocoohee] of the Whirling Rainbow Lodge in 1998; the runes are round wooden chips with pictographs on one side and words on the other side. The system and meanings were passed on to Sam [Caocoohee] by his Grandmother, Beulah Wise Owl, a Seminole Medicine Woman. I am grateful for this unique tool for helping me and others discern guidance...

There are 73 rune chips in the rune sac. The runes are drawn, usually one at a time; sequentially placed in position around the circle... Then as I study the layout, various connecting runes become evident, so the runes often become the focus for an intuitive reading based on your specific inquiry. 

#1-13 above is the order in which the runes are drawn; the second number is for my reference and is the number that is on the rune chip.
